Hackney Farm and London Markets

Saturday is market day. So we went out to explore a market really near to our home. On our way we unexpectedly passed a little farm which was open for visitors. We could see some sheep, goats, chicken, pigeons and even a donkey! The farm also had a cute garden attached.
The markets we visited then were really nice and in the afternoon we sat down to have some coffee. It was a wonderful day as we got to see many beautiful things...

I specifically love this graffiti because if you look at it closer you'll see that the bird's coat contains 4 colours only. Black, dark blue, a light blue and white. I'm no professional in graffiti but I think it's quite fascinating how the artits can create such three-dimensional looking pieces with a few colours only!

Another favourite graffiti. Amazing how the artwork trails around the environment e.g. the door, street sign and especially the pipe which seems to be the creator of the stream of colours. Not to forget the Fish & Chips sign that happens to be the same colour as the graffiti! :)

Causually taking pictures of strangers, ahah. But I loved how they both wore red which was a great contrast to the greens in the water of the canal.

Back to London for New Adventures

I'm excited to tell you that I'm back in London since today. But this time, instead of 3 weeks on my own, I'm staying for 3 freaking months together with two of my absolute best friends! How great is that?
Unlike probably every other person we chose to travel by bus for 20hours. Of course it hasn't been that comfortable but I've honestly had worse (and longer) bus journeys. And one big benefit is the unlimited amount of luggage you can carry with you.

London right now is burning hot. But we were so happy when we've finally arrived at our little home for the next three months.
After refreshing ourselves we went grocery shopping at Tesco and made the biggest bowl of noodles!
oopsFor today we'll just be chilling at home and maybe watch a movie.

Excited for what tomorrow might bring!

Day 22: Going home

Sunday, 25/August/2013

Bild 1494

Wow, three weeks can pass so fast if you don't look out! I tried to enjoy and be aware of every second of those three weeks. It was the best time! I want to and I'm going to come back someday. Hopefully soon.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my journey to London and I'll talk  you soon maybe. :*

Sleep well, Laila xoxo

Day 21: Westfield and Saying Goodbye :(

Saturday, 24/August/2013

Me and Daria spent our last day in London at the Westfield shopping mall. The biggest shopping mall in Europe! :O It was really great.

Bild 1470

We visited all the good stores first and then went to eat at Nandos for the first time! It was so delicious and our waiter was pretty kind. (Right, Daria? ;) )

Bild 1474

Bild 1475

Later we tried one of those famous Pretzels with chocolate spread and it was to die for! Holy... When I come back this will be the first thing I want to eat! We also tried Churros but I don't really like them. Unfortunately I only took a picture of my churros but not of the Pretzel :/ This means you have to go there yourself and pick one, haha. :D

Bild 1476

Full and happy we sat down in the mall. Spontanous we decided to go to the intern cinema and we watched "We are the Millers". Really funny movie (sometimes "over the top" but you can bear it.).

It was already late when we got out of the cinema so we had to go home. It was the hardest thing saying goodbye to Daria. I had a lump in my throat and didn't want to leave the subway at my station. I miss her a lot. A lot a lot. But I'm certain we are going to meet again. And until then we still have social networks to keep the contact.

Have a goodnight! Laila xxxx

Day 20: Last Schoolday & Trafalgar Square

Friday, 23/August/2013

Today was my very last day at school. A bit sad.. It's the weirdest feeling ever to say goodbye to someone you might never see again! With some people I'll definitley keep the contact but still it's weird. Not a big fan of goodbyes. Honestly.. :/ But I was glad to be sure that I and Daria will still see each other on Saturday. :) At least we had one whole day left!

I never thought I'd say something like this about classes but I'll miss the EF school! Yes, it was fun studying there. Who would've thought that school can actually be fun, haha! :D

doors

The last picture/gif are almost all of the doors in Roupell Street (where EF school is). It's a really cool thing to walk past these doors almost everyday :) Colorfull way to start a day. :D

After visiting Harrods me and Daria went to Vapiano near Oxford Street and ate some delicious pizza!

Bild 1426

Then we decided to buy some Baklava at Trucadero and eat it at on top of the Nelson's Column. My favourite place to be. We sat there for hours and watched the cars go by. It was just beautiful!

After having a English Tea at Nero I went to Green Park station to walk to Buckingham Palace. The park is beautiful. I really liked the Canadian memorial near the Palace. At Buckingham Palace I saw some guy drawing different pieces of the palace in a scretch book. It looked really beautiful. I went on to take pictures

Day 19: Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square,....

Thursday, 22/August/2013

This morining it was raining cats and dogs! haha! Just kidding, it's just an english expression and it was raining ordinary water drops. ;) But still the weather caused a general oversleeping in class.^^ In the end we were almost complete and could do little funny sketches in class in which we had to use english expressions with animals (for example "as blind as a bat", "crows' feet" or "a old wise owl"). It was really funny!

I already finished school at 12:05 which meant that I could join the excursion to the Tower of Londom at 12:15! Tristan and about 14 other students also went there. The ticket costed around 18 Pound (bring you students ID card!). At the entrance I met a girl called Anya from Russia (also studying at EF). Together we explored theTower of London. Beautiful rooms, crowns and views! Sadly we couldn't see the Crown Jewels because there was such a long queue in front of entrace for the Crown Jewels and we already spent a lot of time looking at the other rooms and expositions.

Afterwards I took a bus to Trafalgar Square. Taking the bus was on the spur of the moment because I originally planned on traveling on the tube when I randomly saw a bus going to Trafalgar Square stoping right next to me! And generally I prefer the bus because you get to see sp much while the drive!

I left the bus at St. Paul's Cathedral stop and toured the just named Cathedral. It is an amzing church! I mostly love the little parks around the church and the square in front where you have a great view on the Cathedral.

I got back to the bus stop  to continue my trip to Trafalgar Square. I've actually already been there when we went to the National Gallery with class but I had no chance to take some pictures then. I'm going to upload them AND the pictures + stories from Buckingham Palace tomorrow. It was a long day. Too long for one blog post. ;) I hope you're looking forward tomorrow!

Goodnight everyone! Laila xxx
