Cafe-Days..

I love Cafe-Days! They're one of the most relaxing things to do!
You're probably wondering what I mean with 'Cafe-Day'.
Well, it's literally just You spending at least half of the day at your favourite cafe.
And that's not boring at all as every cafe-day can be different to another.

I like to start my cafe-day with a nice cappuccino and do whatever I planned on doing. Then around 3 to 4pm my tummy alerts me and I grant myself a nice afternoon meal from the menu.

Cafe-Days are especially nice for catching up with friends you haven't seen in a while. Or maybe you have seen them yesterday but there's a lot to talk about
And what could be a better place for that than a cafe where you can get coffee and food!?

But also for studying and getting things done cafes seem like the perfect surrounding. For me it's just a lot easier to stay concentrated when I'm not at home.

Other things you can do are writing or drawing and doodling. It's perfect to plan things or journeys you want to do in the future or maybe you just want to watch people. In that case you should find a window place. ;)

Highgate and its cemetery

Only 30 min by tube or 1h by bus (cheap version!) will get you to Highgate. A small but very beautiful part of London. It's situated on top of a hill which reveals an amazing view over the city center of London.

The last time we went there unfortunately the cemetery we wanted to visit was closed already but this time we got up early. And the cemetery, where by the way Karl Marx is buried, is definitely always worth a visit and worth the entrance of 4£.
There are countless old and sometimes already forgotten graves where nature grows around tombstones and spiderwebs pull string across the little paths between the graves.

Regent's Canal Walks

Regent's Canal is definitely the answer to lazy afternoons but when you still want to go outside and breathe some fresh air.

As long as you keep an eye on the furious cyclists to avoid any accidents, Regent's Canal is one of the nicest places to take long walks with a cafe every now and then. Perfect to relax and to regain energy. More about some of those cafes in another blogpost.

We've already discovered a lot of the Regent's Canal so far. We've been following the Canal from the Victoria Park, through Islington and until Angel. And we've also sat down at the part of the Canal in Camden Town where we enjoyed our food from the market.
Hopefully we can soon follow the part that goes through St Pancras as I'm curious what it looks like around there. And also the Canal goes further Victoria Park, into the Thames. I'd love to take a walk there soon!

Exhibition at Photographer's Gallery

A little late but better than never, right? But there was just so much to do and so little time to write a proper blogpost. But now I can finally tell you about a exhibition me and my friend visited in 'The Photographer's Gallery'.

The exhibition was called "Primrose: Early Colour Photography In Russia".
Very interesting to see what the beginnings of colour photography particularly in Russia looked like. We saw a lot of creative images. It was fascinating how many of the pictures looked like paintings due to the colouration.
Obviously they used to photograph their image three times but in different colours so that those pictures could add up to one normal coloured picture.

You could see how the colouration of pictures improved throughout the years and some of the pictures were pretty good quality!

When stroling around the gallery we also found a room where dias where shown and immediately had to go and take some photos there. I love how they turned out!

Notting Hill Carnvial In The Rain

It's been such a pity that on Monday of the Notting Hill Carnival it was raining all day but that held absolutely nobody back from partying, dancing and dressing like it has been 28°C+!
We found a great place to stand and watch the parade.
All the costumes looked amazing! Everyone was happy and laughing. Such a nice day!

 what is rain? :)
