Highgate and its cemetery

Only 30 min by tube or 1h by bus (cheap version!) will get you to Highgate. A small but very beautiful part of London. It's situated on top of a hill which reveals an amazing view over the city center of London.

The last time we went there unfortunately the cemetery we wanted to visit was closed already but this time we got up early. And the cemetery, where by the way Karl Marx is buried, is definitely always worth a visit and worth the entrance of 4£.
There are countless old and sometimes already forgotten graves where nature grows around tombstones and spiderwebs pull string across the little paths between the graves.

Regent's Canal Walks

Regent's Canal is definitely the answer to lazy afternoons but when you still want to go outside and breathe some fresh air.

As long as you keep an eye on the furious cyclists to avoid any accidents, Regent's Canal is one of the nicest places to take long walks with a cafe every now and then. Perfect to relax and to regain energy. More about some of those cafes in another blogpost.

We've already discovered a lot of the Regent's Canal so far. We've been following the Canal from the Victoria Park, through Islington and until Angel. And we've also sat down at the part of the Canal in Camden Town where we enjoyed our food from the market.
Hopefully we can soon follow the part that goes through St Pancras as I'm curious what it looks like around there. And also the Canal goes further Victoria Park, into the Thames. I'd love to take a walk there soon!
